Picadillo is a Cuban-style hash made with floor pork, floor beef, or a mixture of each. Whereas easy to make, this basic Cuban dish is extraordinarily flavorful. It begins with a sofrito of finely chopped onion, pink bell pepper, and garlic. Dried cumin, dried oregano, bay leaves, tomato paste, and white wine are further components that layer the picadillo. What makes picadillo actually sing is the addition of briny, pimento-stuffed inexperienced olives, capers, and raisins.
