Judy’s Gross Eats: TWD/BWD: Mulled-Butter Apple Pie


 

 

The final November baking choice for the Tuesdays with Dorie group was the Mulled-Butter Apple Pie.  It looks as if most everybody saved it for final due to the Thanksgiving vacation.

 

As soon as once more, I did not get a slice picture, in all probability as a result of it disappeared rapidly.  The addition of spices and orange zest to the melted butter was a pleasant change from the standard apple pie flavors.  I used a mix of apples for the filling — a minimum of 4 completely different sorts.  Some stored their firmness, some had been extra mushy, some had been candy, some had been tart, however all of them made a pleasant chunk.  I had collected the apples from my biweekly produce supply, so it turned out I needed to peel and chop 10 apples!
