Chivas collaborates with sake brewery on new spirit – Drinks Worldwide

Chivas Brothers, the Scotch whisky arm of Pernod Ricard, has collaborated with sake brewery Masuizumi on a brand new spirit.

Chivas Regal Takumi Reserve blends a 12 Yr Previous spirit drink with Japanese sake, launching solely in Asia.

Sandy Hyslop, director of mixing at Chivas, mentioned: “Chivas Regal Takumi Reserve represents new territory for Chivas, pushing the boundaries of workmanship to ship a coveted spirit drink that blends the wealthy heritage of Scotch whisky with the varied, internationally impressed palette of flavours present in premium sake.” 

Not the primary time Chivas Regal has labored with Masuizumi,  2018 noticed Pernod Ricard Japan accomplice with the distillery to launch Hyperlink 8888, a premium sake aged in ex-Chivas Regal American oak barrels.

To create the spirit, Chivas Regal reuses some parts concerned in making Hyperlink 8888. After the ex-Chivas Regal barrels used for Hyperlink 8888 have been returned to their residence in Scotland, a portion of Chivas Regal was completed in these casks that beforehand held Hyperlink 8888. 

Chivas Regal Takumi Reserve is on the market to buy in Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines and Cambodia from September 2024.
