From the bars at Asheville Proper and Little D’s, two locally-owned informal eating places in Asheville, NC, comes the right Lion’s Tail cocktail.

First showing in The Cafe Royal Cocktail Ebook, the basic Lion’s Tail happened throughout Prohibition within the Nineteen Thirties and options allspice dram, a liqueur made with rum, pimento berries and spices, alongside bourbon, Angostura bitters, easy syrup, and recent lime juice. The Lion’s Tail is a novel drink that’s been largely neglected till lately.

Little D’s and Asheville Correct’s tackle the basic libation provides cardamon bitters, making it excellent for the winter season with wealthy, spiced, fragrant flavors!

Substances


  • 1 1/2 oz. Bourbon
  • 1/2 oz. St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
  • 1/4 oz. Demerara Syrup
  • 3/4 oz. Lime Juice
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 2 dashes Cardamom Bitters



Preparation

  1. Shake all substances.
  2. Pressure and pour right into a coupe glass.
  3. Garnish with a lemon twist.
